Since
1992 Excalibur Charters has been providing cruising adventures to countless
visitors from all corners of the earth. While
on our Boating Charters you’ll travel through the beautiful Gulf Islands
archipelago and feel the history of the Southern Vancouver Island coast.
These are the waters where the paddles of the proud Cowichan Tribes took
these earliest peoples from village to village; where the oars of the European
settlers propelled them to remote homesteads; where commercial fishermen wet
their lines and rumrunners plied their trade.
Place names like Chemainus and Cowichan from the native peoples; Galiano
and Saturna from the Spanish explorers; Moresby and Pender from the British
mariners; and Fernwood and Crofton from the early pioneers.
This is the home of the mighty Orca (killer whale), porpoise, sea lion,
seal and otter. Bald eagles soar
overhead while colorful puffins, cormorants and blue herons feed and nest.
Where Chinook and Coho salmon entice the visiting fishermen along with
sole, lingcod and snapper. Tidal
pools abound with sea life; crab, sea urchins, star fish and anemones.
Join
us aboard the motor vessel Excalibur and take in the beauty of the Gulf
Islands and Southern Vancouver Island.
Over one hundred islands and islets dot the protected waterways
and create a cruising area with endless possibilities.
Sit back and enjoy your leisurely cruise among the islands while
Whale Watching, Wildlife Viewing and enjoying the setting sun as it turns
the sky crimson. You can
include a visit to the Saturday morning crafts fair in Ganges Harbour
on Salt Spring Island; dine on succulent lamb at the Saturna Island lamb
barbecue; learn how they make wine at a Thetis Island winery; buy fresh
fruit at the Pender Island farmers market; or roam the beautiful Butchart
Gardens in Saanich Inlet. You
can hike the trails and shores of the numerous marine parks including
Montague Harbour on Galiano Island; Pirates Cove on DeCoucy Island; Cabbage
Island; Princess Margaret Park on Portland Island; Sidney Spit on Sidney
Island; and Wallace Island. Sample
the fare at one of the many waterfront pubs and restaurants.
We can even arrange overnight accommodation at one of the sea side
Bed & Breakfasts; some only accessible by boat.
Don’t overlook the
thrill of Salmon Fishing or fishing for bottom
fish. Our Fishing Charters include
all the gear you need and fishing licenses are available on board.
Combine
the beauty of the cruising grounds with Power Boat Lessons.
Our skippers are not only experienced but CCGA certified Small
Craft Training Instructors. Individual
